APC Lawmakers kick against imposition of leaders by party
The lawmakers under the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC have vowed that they will not accept imposition of leaders on them as they look to elect new leaders.
The 10th National Assembly will be inaugurated, hence they need to elect their own leaders as prescribed by the law.
But the ruling party has gone ahead to zone the leadership positions and also anointed leaders that will fill the vacant positions and this doesn’t go well with the lawmakers and they have vowed to resist the said imposition.
Sunrisenewsnigeria recalls that the Dogara and Saraki scenarios could be repeated if the party, APC who have majority lawmakers in the both red and green chambers refused to listen to the lawmakers.
One of the people who were not happy about the situation is the current governor of Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu noted that it is strange. For him, the party could zone the offices but going ahead to attach names to these offices is strange.
Meanwhile, the opposition members of the House of Representative could take the chance of nominated their own candidate and take over the leadership of the House.
Sunrisenewsnigeria will continue to monitor the intrigue going on in both Houses and see what will happen as this will continue to dominate political discussions in the country.
