After securing the deal for another goalkeeper, Mendy, Chelsea have reportedly agreed five deal for the West Ham player, Declan Rice.
The Blues may have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Declan Rice amid reports he has agreed a five-year deal and is ready to tell West Ham he wants a move to West London.
And in order to fund the transfer, Chelsea may be willing to sell Jorginho to Arsenal.
Chelsea have agreed a five-year deal with Declan Rice, according to reports.
Italian journalist Nicola Schira tweeted: “Chelsea are literally on fire: after Mendy’s signing Blues are working to close Declan Rice’s deal.
“Talks ongoing with West Ham (rejected a bid of €50M + add-ons). The midfielder has already agreed personal terms for 5-year contract.”
Attention will now turn to agreeing a fee after the Blues’ £46m bid was rejected, but that could be made easier by Declan Rice insisting on leaving.
Fellow Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano told the Here We Go podcast: “Declan Rice will push to join Chelsea. He will go strongly to join Chelsea.
“We will have to see what will happen because he also respects West Ham as normal but he’s going to tell West Ham ‘I want to join Chelsea’.”
