Bauchi Governor, Bala tested for coronavirus after shaking hands with Atiku’s son

The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has taken a coronavirus test after shaking hands with Atiku Abubakar’s son who has been tested positive for COVID-19.

Bala in a statement released on Monday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mukhtar Gidado , said that he has gone into self-isolation despite not having any symptoms.

He said that Bala took the decision after he had, contact with the son of Atiku Abubakar, that resulted into the duo having handshake.

“This development is sequel to the report from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) that the son of the former Vice President of Nigeria, Mohammed Atiku Abubakar was tested positive to coronavirus upon his return from an international trip through Lagos,”

“For the period of the clinical testing, the governor and his entourage will remain in isolation pending the outcome of the clinical result,” the governor’s aide added.
