Abraham rose through the Academy ranks of Chelsea and graduated to the first team to become Chelsea’s main 9 under the Lampard era. In total, he scored 30 goals in 82 appearances over the last two seasons with which he as a Champions League and Uefa Super Cup title.Photo Credit: Roma
The English man’s importance at Stamford bridge began to diminish with Thomas Tuchel’s arrival, or more or less before that, with the signing of Werner from Leipzig. With that signing, Abraham was left out on the bench and featured scarcely in Chelsea’s big games.Photo Credit: Getty
Werner’s inconsistency ought to have meant good for him, but Chelsea winning the Champions League and Super cup title meant that they needed to maintain the scale they have set and buy a Player of that calibre to defend their titles next season or go for more. With that in mind, the board sought out Haaland, Lewandowski and Romelu Lukaku. At first, there were no positive talks of sale concerning these three-star players, and Chelsea was running out of time.Photo Credit: Getty
Abrahmovic had to fork out a record-breaking €115m to make a bid for Romelu Lukaku to convince Inter’s mind. The deal was accepted and Lukaku who once played for Chelsea in his teenage days returned to the bridge. This now meant bad news for Abraham as he further went down the pecking order and fortunately quickly snapped up by a Mourinho led Roma.
