Big reports from Stamford Bridge over Chelsea’s contract talks with a world-class player

Chelsea Football Club has been home for many great footballers and under Thomas Tuchel he is battling to keep one of the great stars at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea under the German tactician will most importantly be aiming towards securing a top four finish on the Premier League table by the end of the 2021/2022 season.

The Stamford Bridge side have been in a good run of form for the major part of the ongoing season and are already in the finals of the Carabao Cup and also in the next stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Coupled with that, Chelsea football club have a chance to win a trophy this month as they set out for the FIFA Club World Cup competition where they battle Al-Hilal on Wednesday evening. And ahead of that competition, Chelsea could be rocked with reports that experienced central defender Antonio Rudiger has laid out his contract demands.

The 28-year-old Germany International, who joined Chelsea after leaving AS Roma way back in 2017 has been an important member of the first-team squad over the previous seasons.

The experienced centre-back was heavily involved for Chelsea during the 2020/2021 season where he scored one goal and created one assist in 34 appearances in all competitions.

Antonio Rudiger has also started the ongoing season on a very good note, scoring three goals and recording four assists in the 32 matches he has played so far.

But then, Antonio Rudiger has less than five months left on his current contract with Chelsea and having not signed a new contract, he is in line to leave the club on a free transfer in the summer. And according to reports from The Sun, Antonio Rudiger wants to stay at Chelsea and he is now demanding £225k a week and a signing-on bonus to sign a new contract.

The reports further claimed that Antonio Rudiger has laid down his contract demands to Chelsea and it remains to be seen if the Chelsea board would be willing to offer that.

That said, it is believed that Antonio Rudiger is attracting interests from Manchester United, so Chelsea will need to act fast in order not to lose the centre-back on a free transfer when his contract expires in June.
