Super Eagles number one goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has been ruled out of the Qatar 2022 world cup qualifiers clash against the black star of Ghana.
According to the reports, Okoye has fallen ill and is out of the two-legged World Cup playoff ties between Nigeria and Ghana.
Okoye was in charge of Super Eagles goal during the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Super Eagles Coach, Augustine Eguavoen has now extend a late invitation to Enyimba FC goalkeeper John Noble to join the squad.
Okoye’s error was widely seen as one of the major reasons why the Super Eagles crashed out early from the last Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The goalkeeper has ever gotten back to his strides at his club where he is yet to concede any goal this month in all his outings.
His absence from the game will be a huge blow to Nigeria as they look forward to make it to another world cup.
