Chelsea board are set to turn their attention to Thomas Tuchel’s target striker after their for Erling Haaland approach was knocked back.
The Londoners initially made Erling Haaland their no 1 summer target, but Borussia Dortmund’s reluctance to sell the forward has forced the blues to turn their attention to another target. The blues have now turned their attention to Bayern Munich attacker Robert Lewandowski as they look to tempt the Polish striker to move to the Stamford bridge staduim this summer. The reigning Champions league winners are set to test the water with an opening £50 million bid for Lewandowski who was the highest scoring player across Europe top 5 leagues in the 2020/2021 season.
Thomas Tuchel is desperate to bring in attacking reinforcements following the poor showings of Timo Werner in front of goal last season with Oliver Giroud and Tammy Abraham also both looking likely to depart the London club this summer.A move for Erling Haaland was first mooted by the German headcoach but the difficulty in signing the 20 year old has now forced the blues to shift attention towards Robert Lewandowski who turns 33 year in few months.
Despite his age, Robert Lewandowski remains one of the most lethal strikers in the world with the Polish captain having scored more goals across anyone in Europe top 5 leagues in the last three seasons.
