Chelsea board to replace Lampard’s target, Declan Rice with 29-year-old from Serie A

Chelsea board has identified a midfielder from the Series A side, Atalanta as possible alternative to Frank Lampard’s target Declan Rice.

Having spent over £200 million in revamping the squad. Chelsea has acquired the signatures of important and key players, such as Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr, Ben Chilwell and Edouard Mendy.

The icing on the cake for Frank Lampard would have been West Hams Declan Rice as the Chelsea manager is looking to revitalize his squad.

Chelsea are being frustrated as they try to sign Declan Rice from West Ham who wouldn’t budge.

Marten de roon

However, should this resistance from West Ham continue, the blues are rumored to have Atalanta star Marten de Roon to be the front runner for Lampard.

The 29- year old midfielder has played previously for Sparta Rotterdam, SC Heerenveen and Middlesbrough.

Unlike Declan Rice who is valued by West Ham at 60 million, Marten de Roon is cheaper as the Dutch international yet to agree a contract extension with the Serie A club.

As a Chelsea fan, which of the two midfielders would you prefer, Marten de Roon from Atalanta or Declan Rice from West Ham.
