Chelsea fans fled in their thousands taking to social media to rave and revel about Dujon Sterling’s spellbinding performance which could save the Blues £68 million in transfer fees this summer.
The 20-year-old defender, who has naturally has operated as a multifunctional thundering right-back and right wing-back, entered the field of play at half-time slotting into the right centre-back role comprising a back three.
Thomas Tuchel has been incredibly impressed with Sterling upon his return to Cobham Training Ground this summer and has been taking part in pre-season proceedings.
The former Wigan Athletic and Coventry City loanee appeared in a similar role against Bournemouth at the Vitality in the Blues’ previous pre-season venture and impressed with his electric pace and superb defending, before reigniting said performance at the Emirates.
With another statement performance under watchful eye of the former Paris Saint Germain boss, Sterling, who came so close to rivalling Victor Moses for place in Antonio Conte’s starting eleven, has staked a claim to be a part of Tuchel’s plans.
Should the England Under-20 international break into the first-team, Roman Abramovich has been tabled with a firm alternative to Jules Kounde, who like Sterling would operate for the Blues in the right of a back three.

Sterling earmarked his spectacular performance with a sliding tackle inside Chelsea’s six-yard box on Gunners winger, Pepe, as he thundered across the box to prevent a goal.
