According to the reports from Express, Chelsea have identified Juventus star player to join Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.
Paulo Dybala will be a potential summer signing, according to the reports. Dybala is out of contract at Juve at the end of the season and could leave the club on a free transfer. And Chelsea could take advantage of that possibility.
Speculation over Dybala’s future in Turin has rumbled on throughout this season.
It was reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano last October that the Argentine was set to pen a new deal until 2025.
However, the contract is still yet to be signed and as it stands the player will walk away for free.
Dybala has remained a regular part of the Juve side throughout what could be his last campaign at the club.
He has seven goals and four assists to his name in 18 Serie A appearances.
Dybala has often been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Tottenham previously holding an interest.
And now, according to the Transfer Window podcast, Chelsea have entered the fray for the 28-year-old.
Ian McGarry claims Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is not happy with the lack of goals from the likes of Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic.
Havertz and Pulisic have just five goals between them in the Premier League this season.
Therefore Tuchel wants to bring in another forward this summer, identifying Dybala as that player.
“It is our understanding at the Transfer Window podcast that [Chelsea] are in the market this coming summer for a striker,” McGarry said.
“It is Thomas Tuchel’s belief that they are overloaded with attacking midfielders who are not producing the goals that he would expect from players like Kai Havertz and Pulisic.
“Therefore Paulo Dybala at Juventus has come onto their radar with regards to moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
“He’s someone who has interested many European clubs over the last year or so, having expressed some dissatisfaction with his playing time at Juve.”
McGarry’s podcast co-host Duncan Castles says Chelsea are exploring what Dybala’s demands would be for him to join the club.
Castles commented: “What you’re seeing here is his representatives assessing a busy market for free agents this summer and seeing what the best option available to him is.
“And it’s understandable that Chelsea are talking and finding out what his salary request will be and considering whether it would be something that would strengthen them or not.”
