Chelsea promote wonderkid, sets to play his first match as Christensen’s replacement

Chelsea have promoted a new youngster to the first-team squad, as to help them cope with the injury of the Denmark international. Because, they don’t want to settle for less having got few games left to play in all competitions.

Of course, Andreas Christensen was injured against Manchester city last week Saturday, as he was replaced by Kurt Zouma. And, Thomas Tuchel confirmed that the centre-back ain’t available for now, so the Blues promoted this youngster to balance the squad.

According to Nizaar Kinsella, he confirmed that, Chelsea have promoted Levi Colwill to the first-team until the end of the season, due to Christensen injury. As, they want the young Englishman to help them cope with, the injury issues in the squad. In other words, Colwill has been promoted to the Blues until the end of this campaign, because of the Denmark international unavailability.

Although, the Thomas Tuchel’s side still have the likes of Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger and Zouma who are able and capable play as a centre-back. However, the Blues have to prepare for the worst, especially when they still have to play against Arsenal, Leicester and Aston Villa.

Levi Colwill is a indeed a promising centre-back, who’s just 18-year-old and he has been buzzing and making waves with the Chelsea’s youth squad. Obviously, the German coach believes in his talents and skills, before he can promoted him to the first-team squad. Undoubtedly, the 18-year-old centre-back would be in the squad until the end of the season, as for him to take Andreas Christensen spot in the squad.

Meanwhile, the newly promoted youngster has similar playing style to Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma, as he possesses the ability to singlehandedly control the defense line. And, he can read the opponent’s movements towards their box. Thus, the Thomas Tuchel’s men don’t have to fear anything, in the absence of the Denmark centre-back.
