Chelsea could fund a summer move for Jadon Sancho by selling two unwanted players for big money in the upcoming transfer market.
Chelsea could earn a huge windfall this summer by selling two unwanted on-loan players, thereby raising funds to sign Jadon Sancho. The Blues are monitoring the Borussia Dortmund ace and hope to snap him up as part of a major overhaul by manager Frank Lampard.
However, Manchester United are also interested in Sancho and the England international is valued at an eye-watering £120million.
Chelsea will therefore have to generate funds through player sales, despite having been prevented from registering new arrivals over the past two transfer windows due to a ban.
Hakim Ziyech is the only signing to be secured since the restrictions were lifted, with the Ajax ace set to move to the UK this summer after penning a £33m deal in January.
The Blues should therefore have money to spend in the transfer window, but Lampard is seeking reinforcements in a number of key areas so any extra income will be a welcome boost.
And the west London club could earn themselves nearly £80m from selling the on-loan duo of Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata.
Bakayoko was signed from Monaco for around £40m in 2017 but failed to nail down a first-team spot under Antonio Conte and was frozen out by Maurizio Sarri.
The 25-year-old began rebuilding his reputation with a loan spell at AC Milan in 2018/19 before returning to former club Monaco on a temporary deal last season.
