A strong message has been passed to Kai Havertz and Bayern Leverkusen by Chelsea as the blues have continued to attract more quality players to Stamford Bridge.
Recall that Havertz has agreed to join Chelsea but the talks is still on from the German Bundesliga side.
By signing more players after Havertz’s talk linger is a strong message to the club.
Meanwhile, Thiago Silva has passed his Chelsea medical as his move to Stamford Bridge edges closer.
The veteran defender, 35, is set to join the Blues after seeing out his contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
Sky Sports, as well as talkSPORT’s Jim White reports that Silva is now waiting to sign the necessary documents to become a Chelsea player after completing the medical in Milan.
The Brazilian is then expected to fly from Italy to London on Friday to begin a 14-day period of self-isolation before joining up with Frank Lampard’s squad.
Although joining on a 12-month contract, it is believed the Brazil international could stay at Stamford Bridge for a further season.
He will be Chelsea’s fifth major signing of the summer, with forwards Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner as well as defenders Ben Chilwell and Malang Sarr also arriving in this window.
Sarr, the 21-year-old left the Ligue 1 club this summer following the end of his contract there and has now signed a five-year deal with us. He will spend the 2020/21 season out on loan. This will provide the chance to gain valuable game time and add to his experience so he will be ready to join our squad.
