Chelsea to Complete £45M Signing of World-Class Striker, as PSG Sign Mauro Icardi €50 million

Chelsea are a club looking to massively bolster their squad ahead of next season as the Blues are looking at a possible rebuild under Frank Lampard.

Chelsea are reportedly keen on bringing in a striker ahead of next season and the club have been reportedly to be in an advanced position to sign Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik.

26-year Old Polish Striker Milik has been linked with the Blues as they’re eyeing to bring in a striker that will act as a backup and also provide massive competition to Tammy Abraham who has been Chelsea’s major outlet for goals this season.

The Prolific Polish striker has been in massive goalscoring form for Napoli since his move to the club in 2016 as he has scored 36-goals in 83 appearances for the Italian club, although Milik missed almost the whole of his first season at Napoli due to a knee injury.

Chelsea’s back up strikers Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi have failed to consistently rack up goals for the Blues and this has made Chelsea to be keen on bringing in another striker as Batshuayi maybe leaving the club in the summer. The signing of Milik will make sense for the Blues as his arrival wouldn’t massively impact the progress of Tammy Abraham as the England striker is seen as the future of Chelsea. Arkaduisz Milik has had a history of being prolific right from his time at Ajax and his arrival will further bolster Chelsea’s attack. Chelsea will have to spend £45m to get Milik.

Chelsea needs to bring in a striker that can score goals, whether from the bench or while starting and Milik could well be that player that will bring in a great squad depth and competitiveness to the Blues forward position.

The Argentina international has signed a four-year deal with PSG which runs until June 30, 2024.

PSG held an option to buy the 27-year-old, which expired on Sunday, May 31.

Both teams confirmed the transfer, with Inter saying in a statement: “The club thanks to the player for the six seasons he spent with us and wishes him the best for his future professional career.”

Icardi was left out of Inter Milan’s squad upon Antonio Conte’s arrival last summer but he has impressed in France.
