Chelsea vs Burnley: Ben Chilwell and Kurt Zouma ‘sparked’ during training session ahead of the game

Chelsea news takes a behind the scenes look at the final training session ahead of the Burnley game where Thomas Tuchel is looking for his first win as head coach

The Chelsea squad are in high spirits ahead of Sunday afternoon’s Premier League clash against Burnley.

And that’s despite what has been a rollercoaster of a week in west London.

Either side of last weekend’s FA Cup fourth-round win over Luton Town, there was a managerial change with Frank Lampard being sacked as head coach on Monday morning.

Then over 24 hours later and Chelsea confirmed the appointment of Thomas Tuchel who was available after leaving Paris Saint-Germain.

The German had one training session before overseeing a goalless draw at home to Wolves on Wednesday evening on what was his first game in charge of the Blues.

Given the nature of the current season, the games are coming thick and fast with Burnley – who have beaten Arsenal as well as Liverpool away from home this term – the visitors to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Luckily for Tuchel, he has had a few more training sessions to get his ideas across and will hope that proves to be the difference against the Clarets.

Ahead of the big game at Stamford Bridge, the likes of Christian Pulisic, N’Golo Kante, Tammy Abraham, and Olivier Giroud were put through their paces at Chelsea’s training base in Cobham on Friday afternoon.

It was a normal session as one would expect, but there was a hilarious moment involving Kurt Zouma and Ben Chilwell.

As spotted in a ‘Exclusive Behind The Scenes of Thomas Tuchel’s First Week as Chelsea Coach’ video uploaded to the club’s YouTube page, the latter can be seen chasing after an extremely amused Zouma.

It all starts at around the 4.40-minute mark, as the pair get ready for training and continues for almost 20 seconds as Zouma produces a couple of feints to keep Chilwell at bay.

Whether both players will be all smiles when Tuchel names his Chelsea team to face Burnley remains to be seen.

Zouma was a surprise omission from the starting XI against Wolves as the Blues reverted to a back three with Cesar Azpilicueta partnering Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger.

Meanwhile, Chilwell started as a left-wing back and missed a great chance to break the deadlock before being substituted in the second half.
