All eyes are on Chelsea to put three goals past FC Porto in tonight’s UEFA Champions League game and so to redeem their image of their home defeat to West Brom.
Blatantly, Chelsea and Porto would be clashing against each other at Seville today at 8pm in the evening. As, the Thomas Tuchel’s men and Sergio Conceição’s men would play, their Champions League quarter-final match. It would be tough for both the Blues and the Portuguese side today. But based on squad value, the Thomas Tuchel’s men have vast chances to eliminate Porto, to make it to the semi-final.
Without being biased, Chelsea would comfortably destroy Porto tonight, with this lineup below. As, the formation is able and capable to frustrate the Portuguese side, from all areas. The Thomas Tuchel’s men have been hyped that they are going to brutally end Porto, because of the squad value. Therefore with this lineup below, the Blues have vast opportunities to eliminate the Conceição’s men by comfortably destroying them.
Here’s the lineup Chelsea could use to comfortably destroy Porto tonight:-
Goalkeeper – Mendy
Undoubtedly, the Senegalese would be marrying the goalpost tonight against Porto. We all know that the abilities and capabilities of Edouard Mendy, as the Senegalese goalie is indeed a reliable goalstopper who can successfully save the night for Chelsea against the Conceição’s men.
In order to have a comfortable match tonight, Chelsea should head back to their usual back-three without Thiago Silva. Obviously, the Thomas Tuchel’s men missed Antonio Rüdiger against West Brom on Saturday. Thus, for Chelsea to bag 3 points against the Portuguese side, Azpilicueta, Christensen and Rudiger would play as usual three-men centre-backs. Because, the three defenders understand and do communicate well.
Having watched Porto’s game against Juventus in the round-16, it’s obvious that they are very strong in the front and at the back. So, Chelsea would have to attack and defend dangerously against them tonight, Recce James would be playing as right-wing-back and Marcos would anchor the left-wing-back. And, with these two ballers at the wing sides, Chelsea are able and capable to comfortably trash the Portuguese team.
Of course, it would be too soon to start Kante against Porto tonight, as the Frenchman just recovered form injury. Thus, with N’Golo Kante unavailability in the starting XI, Jorginho and Kovacic should play as double pivot in the midfield, as to silence and subdue the Portuguese side. Both the Italian and the Croatian would be on top of their games, as to massively help the team to bag 3 points.
Attackers – Ziyech, Werner, Mount
Christian Pulisic just recovered as well, so he should be on the bench. Hakim Ziyech has been to many Champions League quarter-finals, and he obviously has the experience having seen his performance against Atletico Madrid in the round-16. Thus, Timo Werner dazzles as a central-forward, while Ziyech and Mason Mount attack from the right and left wing.
Lineup – Mendy, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger, James, Alonso, Kovavic, Jorginho, Ziyech, Werner, Mount.
