Despite beating premier league champions Manchester City to win the UEFA Champions League trophy, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is still desperate to further strengthen his team ahead of next season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is interested in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez in other to strengthen their midfield ahead of the upcoming season.The Spanish midfielder has expressed his desire to leave the Spanish champions this summer, after making just 22 appearances in all competitions for Diego Simeone.
As was reported by Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona is also keen on influencing Atletico Madrid with a swoop deal by offering them Griezmann, but the midfielder wants a move away from Spain and Chelsea is his preferred destination.Atletico Madrid is said to value their prized asset for a fee in the region of €70-80m. The report also suggested that Chelsea had asked about a potential transfer for Saul and Atletico made it known that the playmaker will leave if their asking price is met.Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic has backed Thomas Tuchel with the provision of cash for the summer transfer. So the German coach can go all ahead to secure players he needs for next season.
