Coronavirus: Police officers arrest Pastors for holding church service in Lagos, Ogun

Some Nigeria Police officers have stormed Baptist Church in Surulere, area of Lagos State and allegedly arrested the presiding pastor after dispersing church members.

Recall that Lagos State and Ogun State governments had banned any religious gathering of more than twenty people.

Apart from religious gatherings, Nigerian Government also banned large gatherings in places like cinemas, sports arena, restaurants and night clubs for the next 30 days in order to stop the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

In another development, Sunrise News learnt that some policemen numbering about six stormed a Redeemed Christian Church of God in Obanikoro Area of Lagos and asked them to close down. According to the pastor, he said that the officers said that they received a new directive from Lagos Government about zero gathering. Members were sent home to watch the service by the General Overseer of the Church, Pastor E. A Adeboye.

It was also reported that operatives of Ogun State Police Command arrested a pastor of The Apostolic Church in Sagamu, a town in Ogun state, for flouting the directive of the government on restriction because of coronavirus.
