COVID-19 turns my 60th birthday into worldwide feast – Dele Momodu

Chief Dele Momodu, a renown journalist and publisher/CEO of Ovation International magazine has revealed how the current pandemic going on in the world has changed his planned 60th birthday into a worldwide celebrations.

Dele Momodu was chatting with Metro File on Channels Television on Friday where he said that he had his plans to celebrate his birthday in a big way, but the virus in the land has turned it to something else.

He disclosed that his initial plan was to use Eko Hotels and Suites, later Orientals and later adjusted his plans to use another facility. But because of the lockdown he said he was forced to do his birthday using online platforms.

Pastor Ituah Ighodalo of Trinity House gave the online message and prayers for the celebrants. Momodu and his wife were seen on the online party receiving the prayers.

Online live music were performed by Yinka Ayefele, Sir Shina Peters, Sammy Okposio and other gospel artistes. It was an online birthday, but the celebrant was seen dancing to the music with his wife.

Greetings and messages came from all over the world, making the birthday a worldwide celebration. Part of prominent people who send messages is former president of Ghana, John Mahama who referred to Momodu as ‘loyal friend’.

From the home Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo was seen online with his wishes for the celebrant. General Ibrahim Babangida, Atiku Abubakar, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and others also were seen online sending their messages to the Ovation publisher.

The cake was cut by the publisher of This Day, Nduka Obaigbena while the toast was done by the Chairman of United Bank for Africa, Tony Elumelu.

Dele Momodu was full of thanks to the Almighty God for making him to see 60 years on earth, said that it is a privilege from God.

He asked that people should do good and be nice to people around them.
