Do you agree with Michael Owen’s prediction on Burnley vs Chelsea?

If you are a Chelsea fan, are you in agreement with Owen’s prediction of the Premier League match against Burnley?

Apart from Burnley vs Chelsea, Owen also predicted the match between Manchester United and Arsenal.

The two matches will be played this weekend but on different days. The game between Burnley and Chelsea comes first, it will be played on Saturday by 4:00pm while the mouth-watering clash between Man United and Arsenal will be played on Sunday at Old Trafford by 5:30pm.
Manchester United vs Arsenal

At the very beginning of the season this fixture would have been seen as an outright win for Arsenal but a lot have changed since and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the Manchester United manager and some of the club’s fans will feel the 3 points in offer for this match is theirs to take although this is easier said than done.

This match is coming at time when the United squad is full of confidence considering their most recent result which saw the Red Devils despatch a strong and in form Leipzig 5-0 in the Champions League. Not just that, since returning from the last international break Ole’s men are yet to lose a game, they have since beaten Newcastle, PSG and of course Leipzig with their only blemish being a draw against Chelsea.

Key to this recent success is MBE award winner Marcus Rashford who has scored 5 goals in those games. Therefore Arsenal must have to stop him from playing well if they are to get anything out of this game. But with Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood also getting on the score sheet in their last game, Mikel Arteta’s men will also have to keep an eye on those two which would not be easy.

For Arsenal it can be said they are currently the opposite of United, they started the season really well but have fallen off a bit as the season progressed. The men from Emirates after losing to Man City and Leicester are yet to win a league match since after the last international break with their two victories since then coming in the Europa League.

Things seemed to have improved since Arteta took over as manager of the club almost a year ago but with their recent losses to teams who might be contending for the league one wonders if their habit of a no show in big games is back considering they were also soundly beaten by Liverpool.

In Arteta’s first and only match against Man United since joining Arsenal as a manager his team beat Ole’s men 2-0 and in terms of recent head to head meetings, in the last five games United have only beaten Arsenal once so Arsenal knows United are beatable if they play well.

Burnley vs Chelsea

Burnley only having just a point so far in the league and sitting in the relegation zone ahead of this weekend’s games tells a lot about their form since the start of the season. For Chelsea they are far better and many will be expecting this to be an easy game for the Blues but if you consider that they have been inconsistent then you will know that it may not be that easy.

Chelsea had a lot of positives in their last game against Krasnodar. Rudiger turned, Hakim Ziyech started and scored while Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic also got on the score sheet. But non of that betters the fact that Chelsea finally seem to have a goalkeeper they can rely on.

Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy

Edouard Mendy so far seems to be Chelsea’s best signing this summer, his first game against Chelsea came in the League Cup loss to Tottenham but since then he has come on strong. His performance against United drew a lot of praises and he was equally vital in their clean sheet against Krasnodar and if he continues like this it could be the beginning of the end for Kepa.

Head to head Chelsea have the advantage, one will have to go as far back as 2017 to see the last time Burnley beat Chelsea and if current form is anything to go by then Sean Dyche’s men will be waiting a while longer to get another victory.

Michael Owen’s prediction

Michael Owen is of the opinion that Chelsea will win comfortably.

Are you in agreement with the prediction that Chelsea will win comfortably away to Burnley?
