Double announcements from Stamford Bridge: Chelsea’s £40m windfall and transfer of highly rated star

As the transfer deadline day is looming large there are two reports we are tracking from Stamford Bridge as we look at what will happen as transfer decisions are to be made for two Chelsea’s key players.

1: Chelsea Captain To Leave Stamford Bridge For Barcelona

Chelsea Captain Cezar Azipilicueta is yet to make contract decision after being offered a 2 year extension at Stamford Bridge. Azipilicueta has spend over 9 years at Chelsea and won all the trophies excluding FIFA Club World Cup which they will play in February. Azipilicueta wants a 3 years contract and significant salary increment with Barcelona ready to meet his demands to sign him in the summer as free agent. Chelsea defender Christensen has reportedly verbally agreed to pre-contract deal with Barcelona who are keen to bolster their defence according to Football London.

2: Chelsea Offered £40 Million For Broja Amid De Ligt Links

Chelsea have reportedly been offered £40 Million transfer fee bid from Newcastle United for Striker Armando Broja who is currently shining at Southampton loan. Broja has scored 5 goals in 20 appearances for Southampton this season and Newcastle United is keen to bolster their attack. Chelsea could use the money (if they approve Broja deal) to sign Juventus defender De Ligt who is open for new challenge after shinning in Serie A. Thomas Tuchel is keen to bolster Chelsea defence with Rudiger, Alonso, Christensen & Azipilicueta futures uncertain hence Chelsea keen to sign new defenders.
