The 21-year-old star has started all but one of Les Monegasques’ 28 Ligue 1 matches this season, playing an important role at the base of Niko Kovac’s midfield.
According to a report by ESPN, a number of big European sides are following the Frenchman’s progress, with the Blues among those understood to be huge admirers.
Tchouameni has played a key role for his team this term with Monaco back in title contention, currently sat in fourth place seven points behind Christophe Galtier’s Lille.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of options in defensive midfield with West Ham’s Declan Rice targeted for a return to Chelsea last summer.
Former Blues head coach Frank Lampard, replaced by manager Thomas Tuchel at the end of January, was said to be the main driver of that interest however with the side less likely to purse the Englishman heading into the summer, according to The Guardian.
The club are also thought to be interested in bringing in a central defender and a striker in the summer with Erling Haaland strongly mentioned with a move to Stamford Bridge.
The Norway international however may overlook the west Londoners when it comes to deciding his next club.
According to Bild, Erling doesn’t rate Chelsea among the very best clubs in Europe and sees himself moving to only one of six clubs: Juventus, Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
