Veteran Nollyhood Actor Babatunde Omidina popularly known as Baba Suwe, has reportedly died at the age of 67 years.
According to a publication by Daily post Newspaper, the movie legend reportedly died on Monday after battling with an undisclosed ailment.
His death was made known to the public by his daughter named Adesola Omidina.
Baba Suwe dominated the Yoruba movie industry for many years. He also featured in many movies and bagged many awards.
What led to his death
The highly entertaining actor had earlier lost his wife and has been battling with I’ll health for sometime.
Recall that the loved Yoruba Comedian-Actor was once arrested by the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA and he used many days in their detention.
Sunrisenewsnigeria understands that he got a court judgement and some monies were awarded to him to be paid by Nigeria authority in the way he was treated during his ordeal with the NDLEA but we can’t confirm that he actually got the money before his death.
He later suffered poor health in 2018 and many good spirited Nigerians had contributed money for him to go for treatment abroad.
In 2020, rumours made rounds in the Social Media that the Actor was dead but he debunked the rumour and said those who wish him dead will go before him.
The Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), has not yet issued a statement concerning his death.
Baba Suwe will be missed for his comic roles.
