Huge announcement from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea seal a done deal

Chelsea fans again will have something to rejoice about as the latest report coming from Stamford Bridge is a deal that is already done.

The announcement is huge over the £20 million sponsorship deal with a cryptocurrency firm – should Todd Boehly’s takeover be given the green light.

The Blues have been forced to operate within strict Government sanctions due to outgoing owner Roman Abramovich’s connection with Russian president Vladimir Putin. The oligarch has bankrolled almost two decades worth of unprecedent success at Stamford Bridge, but has agreed to sell the club in a £4.25billion deal to US billionaire Boehly.

The LA Dodgers owner is now awaiting Government approval and the completion of the Premier League’s owners’ and directors’ test. Future investment in the playing squad and stadium improvements have been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, and the latest report indicates the club have already struck a crucial commercial agreement.

Sky News claims Chelsea could announce a lucrative partnership with cryptocurrency firm WhaleFin as early as Thursday, which would see Hyundai replaced on next season’s kit. Owned by Singapore-based Amber Group, the digital asset platform will reportedly pay £20m per year for the sponsorship agreement.

This agreement comes despite the tight sanctions currently placed upon Chelsea, with the report indicating the deal was actually signed in January prior to the Government-enforced restrictions. The deal would represent the Blues first steps into the cryptocurrency market, although Manchester United’s agreement with Tezos means it is not the first such arrangement in the Premier League.
