Huge announcements from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea and PSG could seal £108m double signings of world-class players

CHELSEA were not busy during the January transfer window after they could not sign their target players during that time but summer looks heavy for Thomas Tuchel and the Blues as players will be moving in and out of the Stamford Bridge outfit.

A number of Blues players have been linked with switches to Paris Saint-Germain over recent months and current Blues boss Thomas Tuchel has never hidden his admiration of the Ligue 1 giants

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has previously hailed the ‘extraordinary potential’ at Paris Saint-Germain as the French giants plot a double transfer raid on Stamford Bridge. The Ligue 1 side have already been linked with a number of current Blues players ahead of the summer window.

The latest names linked with Les Parisiens have been Romelu Lukaku and Antonio Rudiger, with doubts over the pair’s long-term future with Chelsea. Of course, the German defender’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and PSG have been noted as admirers – albeit facing considerable competition from the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona. According to Foot Mercato, they have already tabled an ‘offer’ to the former Roma man.

Elsewhere, Lukaku has been linked with a switch to the Parc des Princes having not yet managed to hit the heights expected of him since his club record move from Inter Milan last summer. It of course remains to be seen whether the pair would be open to swapping the English capital for the French, but current boss Tuchel has already given a glowing assessment of PSG.

The German was of course manager at the club for a season-and-a-half between May 2018 and December 2020, claiming two Ligue 1 crowns, the Coupe de France, the Coupe de la Ligue, as well as claiming the club’s first-ever place in the Champions League final. Upon his arrival in Paris, Tuchel was highly complimentary of the club and the current set-up at the Parc des Princes.

Speaking in 2018, he said: “It is with great joy, pride and ambition that I join this great world football club that is Paris Saint-Germain.

“I look forward to working with all these great players, all of whom are among the best on the planet. Together with my staff we will do everything to help the team push their limits to the highest international level.

“There is extraordinary potential in Paris and this is the most exciting challenge that I have received. I am also looking forward to experiencing the Parc des Princes, a legendary European football stadium with a fantastic atmosphere.”
