Huge announcements from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea confirm Abramovich’s latest deal

Big updates from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea football club have officially confirmed that Roman Abramovich has agreed a deal to sell the London club to a consortium.

The owner of the club, Roman Abramovich was forced to sell the club after his assets in the United Kingdom were seized due to his close link to the Russian president, Vladimir Putin who ordered the Russian military to invade Ukraine few months ago.

According to the statement in the club’s website, Chelseafc.com, the club announced that a consortium comprising of Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjoerg Wyss will take over the ownership of the club from Russian Billionaire, Roman Abramovich pending the approval of the British government.

The club said that the total cost of the deal is 4.25 Billion pounds with 2-5 Billion pounds been the cost of the club while 1.75 billion pounds will be invested heavily in the club’s academy, women football, Chelsea foundation etc. The full take over is expected to take place later this month.

This will be a huge relief to the Chelsea fans and supporters whose club has faced several uncertainties in the last few weeks including the freezing of the club’s account.
