Another big announcements from Stamford Bridge has it that two wonderkid have been promoted to join Thomas Tuchel’s first tram for Chelsea.

The Blues resumed first-team training this evening after their disappointing goalless draw with Wolves yesterday.

The outbreak of the Covid-19 virus in the Chelsea squad has forced Thomas Tuchel into promoting some young players from the academy to the first team.

Jorginho was also spotted in training after reportedly returning a negative Covid-19 test result.

Two of the young academy graduates who took part in today’s first-team training have been identified, and they are Josh Brooking and Xavier Simons.

Xavier Simons is an 18 years old English midfielder who joined Chelsea from Brentford in 2016, and he has been part of their academy set up ever since.

He is part of the Chelsea youth team squad that is competing in the Premier League 2 and the UEFA Youth League competition this season.

The young English midfielder is described on the Chelsea official website as a vocal and tough-tackling midfielder.

Xavier Simons is capable of playing in different midfield positions and was once captain of the Chelsea Under-16 team.

The second academy graduate who was spotted in Chelsea’s first-team training today is Josh Brooking, a 19 years old English defender who joined Chelsea from Reading in 2019.

Josh Brooking is described as a powerful and combative defender who is very good in one-on-one situations.

He is listed as a centre-back on Chelsea’s official website, but available information show he can line up as a right-back or a defensive midfielder when necessary.

Josh Brooking is also part of the Chelsea youth squad that is competing in the Premier League 2 and the UEFA Youth League competition this season.
