Nigerians react as Magu said he believes Coronavirus is caused by corruption

Nigerians have been reacting to the statement credited to Ibrahim Magu, acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where he said on Tuesday that he strongly believes the dreaded coronavirus disease is caused by corruption.
Magu in his statement at the passing out parade of 281 cadets of the EFCC Detective Inspector Course-5, at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna said that if Nigeria is careful corruption will kill it.
The video evidence of the statement has also been released online.

President Muhammadu Buhari, Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai and Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu were in attendance when Magu made the statement.

The statement reads in part:  “We have zero tolerance to corruption in the EFCC. Tackling corruption is a clarion call although corruption is a huge burden to the nation. It has spread to all facets of our lives,” he said.

Nigerians on social media have been commenting over the statement as some of them said that there is no relationship between Coronavirus and corruption.

@Biski said that this kind of statement makes the world to laugh at us in Africa.

@Johnson23 in his comment think that the statement is borne of out eye service and overzealousness. More comments are still trailing the said comment. You can add your own comment below.
