Chelsea will seal a deal today and the announcement will be made soonest as they try to fill the vacuum created as Frank Lampard and the club have parted ways.

Chelsea will host Wolves on Wednesday and all eyes are on the club to bounce back to winning ways after some setbacks.

Jurgen Klopp has asked Liverpool to pursue a deal for David Alaba. Alaba is out of contract at Bayern in the summer and is unlikely to sign fresh terms, sparkling a scramble between a host of clubs for his signature. The 28-year-old is believed to have held talks with Real over a move to the Bernabeu, but the deal could be scuppered by Liverpool as Klopp seeks a summer solution to his side’s defensive frailities. Man United, Chelsea and Man City are interested in his signature.

Frank Lampard will not be put off a career in management, despite expressing his disappointment at losing his dream job as Chelsea head coach. Barcelona has not yet finished paying for the signings of Malcom, Trincao, Firpo, Arthur, Denis Suárez, Neto, Matheus Fernándes, Emerson, and Arturo Vidal, among other players. Barça owes around 70 million euros to different clubs for those signings.
