Official Done Deal: Jose Mourinho appointed new manager of Serie A Giants

According to Italian journalist Fabrizo Romano, ex Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has been appointed the manager of Italian club AS Roma Today. The Portuguese boss agreed a 3 year contract with the Italian club. Mourinho was sacked by Tottenham 2 weeks ago after a poor run of results with the North London side. AS Roma themselves have been on a search for a new manager and when Jose Mourinho became available, he was approached for the job.

This will be Mourinho’s second stint in Italy after he managed Inter Milan in the past. The Portuguese manager won the Seria A, Italian cup and the Champions league in the same season as Inter Milan boss in 2009/10. The self acclaimed special one has bew sacked from his last 3 4 managerial positions for the past few years. Chelsea sacked him in 2008, he joined Inter Milan and after a while, he was sacked from there. He then proceeded to join Real Madrid, where as usual he was sacked in 2012.

From there, he went back to England as the manager of Chelsea for a second time. He won the league in 2015 but after a run of bad results the following season, the club sacked him. His next adventure took him to Manchester United, where he won the Europa league and the Carling Cup. Left there after 3 years and was appointed Tottenham boss. His time at the North London side was relatively short as he was sacked in less than 2 years.

Now the manager of AS Roma, it will be interesting to see how his time in Rome will go. This is his chance redeem himself and prove that he is still one of the best managers in world football.
