Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has become one of the most decorated Nigerians after she has been elected as director general of world trade organisation.
She was the former minister in charge of the economy in Nigeria after she was invited when she was holding a position at World Bank.
According to a story she was even appointed by the president of South Africa Ramaphosa at a time in an advisory capacity.
According to TheCable, Okonjo-Iweala, emerged as the director-general of the World Trade Organisation, WTO, after polling 104 votes from 164 member countries to defeat her South Korea’s trade minister opponent.
As it stands, she has added another feather to her elaborate achievements and has becomet thefirst African to occupy that office at the WTO.
What can we say but to congratulate her at this elated office.
It is now Official, Okonjo-Iweala has emerged the winner as DG of WTO.
