“Our king is back”, Chelsea fans shower praises on their star player after a wonderful performance for his country

Timo Werner had Chelsea supporters on social media signing from behind their computer screens thanks to his latest international display.

Werner bagged a brace last night during Germany’s routine 4-0 World Cup qualifying victory over North Macedonia.

Fellow club and countryman Kai Havertz also got on the scoresheet, as did former Blues prodigy Jamal Musiala.

But the night belonged to Werner, who is beginning to gradually rediscover his lethal touch.

The 25-year-old has five goals in his last five games for the national team.

Add his domestic strikes this season, the speedy centre-forward is on seven from ten.

A very good record that deserves recognition.

Something Chelsea fans happily supplied following Werner’s double for Die Mannschaft.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

Timo time

All Werner needs to do now is recreate his Germany form in a Chelsea shirt.

Then the Premier League will finally bear witness to the deadly finisher fished from RB Leipzig.

Certainly a catch at the time, but he has yet to definitively convince hook, line and sinker.

However, the signs are certainly heading upstream, rather than back into a whirlpool of despair.

Link up with Lukaku

Pace and If Werner can also establish a partnership with Romelu Lukaku, then no defence will be safe.

Power in abundance, the duo could be the game’s latest ‘little and large’ forward combination.

They have yet to hit it off as a couple, although the pair are still in the early stages of playing together.

A few more games getting to know one another and Werner and Lukaku could easily be a match made in heaven.
