Done deal: West Ham sign Lingard on loan from Man Utd

West Ham United have announced the signing of Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United.

The 28-year-old midfielder moves to West Ham until the end of the season and will be looking to make his first Premier League appearance of the campaign.

“I’m excited,” Lingard told West Ham TV. “It’s another new chapter in my life. Nothing is guaranteed but I’ve come here to work hard and help the team and bring my experience.

“That’s the main aim. I just want to enjoy my football and get back playing again and get my feet back on the pitch.”

Liverpool eyeing shock move to sign Arsenal flop

Liverpool are considering a shock move to sign Arsenal centre-back Shkodran Mustafi as Jurgen Klopp looks to try and solve his defensive crisis before the January window closes.

The Reds have been without usual first-choice centre-back pairing Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez for much of the season, with both having sustained serious knee ligament injuries.

Their absence has been felt even harder due to Joel Matip’s sketchy injury record, with the Cameroonian again picking up a knock against Spurs, while stand-in defender Fabinho also has a niggle.

The former Valencia and Everton centre-back, who is well known to countryman Klopp, would be considered a short-term fix. Ideally the manager’s preference would be to sign someone to be part of the squad long-term, but that may not be possible.

Chelsea Really wants Haaland and Alaba

Chelsea has reportedly been scoping Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland for quite a while and now it appears that the London-based club is about ready to splurge on the Norwegian phenom:

Chelsea will reportedly splash out on Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland in the summer, while looking at a potential deal for Bayern Munich’s David Alaba too. Real Madrid’s interest in the 20-year-old is well established, but Sky Sports reports that Chelsea will try to get ahead of the Spanish giants in the race for his signature.

According to Fabrizio Romano on The Si Phillips Talks Chelsea Podcast today, “Tuchel is a big fan of Alaba” and Chelsea are “one of the 5 clubs in talks to sign him.” Of course, Alaba looks closest to Real Madrid and Romano actually admits that a deal has been agreed, but nothing has been signed and it has not been completed yet.

This has been the case for a while now, which makes you wonder whether another club is pushing hard to intervene. As Romano says, ‘anything can still happen’ with this one.

Man United ‘will target Ousmane Dembele if Jadon Sancho bid fails’

Manchester United will reportedly attempt to sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona if the club again fail to complete a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils were strongly linked with Sancho during last summer’s transfer window but were unable to come to an agreement with BVB, who are believed to have refused to drop their £108m asking price.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were also said to be exploring a loan deal for Dembele, but the transfer window closed with the France international still at Camp Nou.

United have recently signed two right-sided attackers in the shape of Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo, but the pair are seen as players for the future, with the former heading out on loan and the latter set to feature for the club’s Under-23s side on Saturday.
