Senate president, Lawan seeks more security over fear of attack at national assembly

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has raised concern over the security members as he said that there is an uncovered plot to attack the National Assembly complex.

Recall that Lawan, Senate leadership and Security chiefs had an emergency closed-door meeting bordering on the security at the complex. Security agencies were urged to beef up security at the National Assembly to avert any attack

In a statement released by his spokesman Ola Awoniyi, Lawan said; “From today, we have to find temporary solutions to support the security arrangement here. ”We will find a more permanent solution by the time the entire environment is remodeled.”

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has been asked by some notable Nigerians to replace his Security Chiefs because of the renewed insecurity in the land. But in a swift reply, the presidency has said that changing security chiefs will be against the national interest of the country.
