Sir Alex Ferguson former Manchester United coach returns to former club to share his managerial expertise with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of Liverpool’s clash
Manchester United currently sit in 12th position in the Premier League after a dismal start to the season.
Solskjaer and his players were at Carrington on Saturday to continue their preparations for the encounter.
And they were joined by legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who will be at Old Trafford for Sunday’s showdown, Mirror UK reported.
Ferguson was pictured deep in conversation with Solskjaer and coach Michael Carrick at the training ground.
The trio had all been watching United’s Under-18 side in action against Middlesbrough as the young Red Devils earned a point.
There were suggestions Ferguson had been telling Solskjaer who to pick and offering selection advice last year following his appointment as United boss.
But the under-fire manager denied those claims last term, insisting: “‘We don’t speak weekly.
“The influence is more my 15 years under him. He is 77, it is not fair to him either is it?’
Meanwhile, Solskjaer remains confident he is the man to turn things around at Old Trafford.
“I’m confident in what we’re trying to do and with my staff, I’ve been so impressed,” he said.
“We need to create more chances, because at the back we’ve looked solid, but we haven’t been adventurous enough, taken enough risks.”
