‘They killed us tonight’, three persons responsible for Chelsea’s defeat to Juventus

Chelsea was defeated 1-0 by Juventus in the Champions League for the first time this season. In today’s match, Juventus was the superior team. They played better than Chelsea in the first half but were unable to take the lead. In the opening minutes of the second half, Max Allegri’s team took the lead, thanks to Federico Chiesa. Chelsea tried to get back into the game after conceding but were unable to do so. Chelsea’s attack was no match for Juventus’ defense as they unable to get a proper shot on goal.

Here are three people who should be blamed as Chelsea recorded their first Champions loss today.

1. Thomas Tuchel

Chelsea’s manager fielded a weak lineup against Juventus. He had a lot of talent on the bench, but he chose to play tired players. This was one of the reason why Juventus won more ball possession in the first half

2. Jorginho

Jorginho’s performance in today game wasn’t the best one, he misplaced passes in Chelsea’s half and failed to create chances. He was slow and contributed Little to the team. Ruben Loftus-Cheek should have started ahead of him

3. Marcus Alonso

Throughout the game, Alonso was out of sync. He was unable to keep up with the pace at which Juventus’ players were playing. He was ineffective on the flank and was replaced at halftime by Chilwell who played better.
