Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has given updates on the takeover of the club as he now acknowledged that the Blues have a preferred bidder as it seeks a new owner.
The Premier League club must finalize the takeover by the end of the month.
Tuchel is optimistic that an agreement would be reached shortly.
The Raine Group, the New York bank in charge of Chelsea’s sale, is thought to have given Todd Boehly’s group preferential bidder status.
They had outbid several other bidders, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s last-minute bid is now set to be unsuccessful as well.
“I was told last week that we have a preferred bidder and that things are proceeding,” Tuchel stated.
“It’s a big week for the club, but I was completely focused on the pitch.” But, after hearing what I heard, last week I’m confident.
“Clearance is always preferable, since when the issue is clear, you may act, make judgments, and take actions.” Otherwise, you’re in a passive role, which is exactly what we’re in right now. ” We attempted to make it as minor as possible, but it is always present. “This is what we’re aiming for, we know what we’re dealing with, what the circumstances are in developing the team, and that we can act, rather than react, or even worse, do nothing.”
On Thursday, Roman Abramovich reaffirmed that he still intends to wipe off Chelsea’s £1.5 billion obligations to him once the Stamford Bridge sale is completed.
