Chelsea new manager Thomas Tuchel may be the one to choose as his club have reportedly looking at three players to replace the outgoing star.
Chelsea have shortlisted a three-man centre-backs to sign for their manager, Thomas Tuchel, this summer, according to The Athletic.
Tuchel is keen to bolster his backline despite an excellent defensive record since he replaced Frank Lampard last January.
Bayern Munich’s Niklas Sule is one of the names Chelsea is looking at.
Another option being looked at is Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez, who has been impressive for Diego Simeone’s men so far this season.
Chelsea is also keen on RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate, with the French star also on the radar of Premier League rivals Manchester United.
However, If Chelsea manages to sign one of the top-class centre-back, then they would at least offload one of their existing defenders, and Kurt Zouma is likely to be the player that would leave Stamford Bridge.
Zouma is now effectively the fifth choice centre-back option behind Thiago Silva, Rudiger, Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta
