Three world-class signings that Marina Granovskaia could still make for Chelsea

Chelsea Football club were one of the busiest clubs in the summer transfer window. The club sold a lot of players who they regarded as surplus to requirements, and also made a couple of new signings last summer. Chelsea now has a ‘Stella Squad’ all thanks to Marina Granovskaia and they could still make it even more formidable with some bargain January additions. After adding Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid to what is already a squad jam-packed full of talent, Chelsea are expected to challenge on all fronts this season. The Chelsea Germarn tactician has already showcased everyone his coaching talent since arriving at Stamford Bridge and the acquisition of the Spain midfielder along with the capture of Romelu Lukaku gives him a pretty complete group of players to work with. Even so, South West Londoners may look to use the January market to add a couple of players to the squad should injuries or a loss of form open up some areas of potential weakness. And considering that there are a number of elite players who there contracts will be expiring in 2023, there may be need for more signings In January. Here are some players that could still be signed by Chelsea, which might still add quality and firmness to Thomas Tuchel’s already Stella Squad.

  1. Jules Koude, SevillaIf we’re being hypercritical, then the one area of Chelsea’s squad where they may be lacking in depth is in defence. The Blues’ were strongly linked with a move to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde in the summer transfer window but a switch failed to materialise before Tuesday’s deadline. However, Chelsea could still continue their pursuit for the defender, hopefully, they might succeed in landing the 19-year old defender in January window.

  2. Declan Rice, West HamGiven Jorginho and N’Golo Kante both have contracts that expire in 2023 and they are aged 29 and 30 respectively, the Blues may need to keep an eye on their central midfield options, that despite the incredible depth they currently have in the position. The Blues have been heavily linked with the West Ham United star for some time now. Despite a busy summer transfer window, Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia has been backed to sanction a move for Rice in the January window.

  3. Kessie, AC MilanAnother player who was tipped to make the move to west London last season, Kessie was seen as a ‘dream’ signing for Tuchel when he arrived last season. Kessie is a midfielder who can play that defensive midfield role in place of Jorginho. He has the profile to be an instant success for the Blues. Though a move didn’t materialise last summer, it could work out in Chelsea’s favour next summer
