Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly trying to seal deals from FC Porto, Portugal and from French side, PSG respectively.
For United they are closing in on the signing of Porto left-back Alex Telles.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on adding competition for Luke Shaw in his ranks having already missed out on new Tottenham signing Sergio Reguilon earlier in the summer.
His attentions have turned to Telles, who scored twice and provided an assist as Porto beat Braga 3-1 over the weekend.
The Brazilian has emerged as one of the best attacking full-backs in Europe in recent seasons and had a brilliant campaign last term where he registered 11 goals and also recorded nine assists.
United’s need for reinforcements this summer was clear for all to see last weekend as they laboured to a 3-1 defeat by Crystal Palace at Old Trafford in their opening Premier League match.
And the club look to be closing in on their second signing of the summer, with outlet Esporte Interativo reporting the club are in ‘advanced’ negotiations to sign the 27-year-old Telles.
