The London giants now know how much they will need to shell out to secure the services of Aurelien Tchouameni. Monaco are demanding €40m for the midfielder, who is yet to be pursued officially by Chelsea. France international has come leaps and bounds since joining Les Monegasques from Bordeaux in winter 2020.
Over the past 18 months, Tchouameni has established himself as not only a regular feature for the principality club but also a crucial footballer for them, having played 58 games at Stade Louis II while chipping in with four goals and as many assists along the way.
His progress has also helped Aurelien earn his breakthrough with Les Bleus, with the 21-year-old midfielder making his breakthrough at the international level recently. In addition, his exploits have been noticed by some of the biggest teams in Europe, with one of his prospective suitors being the Blues.
The interest from the Blues is understandable, seeing as Kante is on the wrong side of 30 and has also been bogged down by a myriad of fitness issues of late. In addition, the future of Saul Niguez is unknown at Chelsea, and it is not clear whether the London club will make his stay at Stamford Bridge a permanent one.
The Blues now know how much they will have to stump up to secure the services of the Frenchman, with Monaco unwilling to sell the midfielder for anything less than €40m.
