Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, has said he understands Tammy Abraham’s frustrations after he left the striker out of his side’s squad that lost 1-0 against Leicester City in the FA Cup final over the weekend.
Tuchel said that he wants Abraham not to complain, adding that every Chelsea player deserves to feature against Leicester in the FA Cup final.
He disclosed this on Monday during his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Leicester City on Tuesday night.
Abraham, who is Chelsea’s joint-top scorer this season on 12 goals across all competitions, was left out of Tuchel’s 20-man squad for Saturday’s showpiece at Wembley.
His girlfriend, Leah Monroe, had slammed Tuchel prior to kick-off at Wembley for leaving her partner out of the squad against Leicester.
‘It’s just the amount of people I can nominate for a game,’ said Thomas, on why Tammy missed out.
“I decided to start with Timo as the nine and we also had Oli [Giroud] and Kai [Havertz], who can also play as a nine. It’s not personal.
“Everyone deserves to be in the squad. I understand Tammy’s frustrations and it wasn’t the first time.
“We have other guys in the same situation. This isn’t the moment to complain and explain too much. It’s the moment to live in the moment as these are the decisive weeks of the season.
