Chelsea are unlikely to sign Saul and Kounde
The news surrounding both Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez and Sevilla defender Jules Kounde has ruined Chelsea’s chances of a late transfer window acquisition.Having set out the terms for the 26-year-old, the Blues have gone quiet on Atletico Madrid’s demands to add in a £34 million (€40 million) obligation to buy the Spaniard.Meanwhile, Sevilla’s club director, Monchi, confirmed at a press conference in Spain that the London club had missed an important deadline and would now have to pay the €80 million (£68 million) release clause for Kounde.
French star is set to remain with Lyon
According to ESPN, Houssem Aouar, who has been linked with Arsenal and Tottenham, will continue at Lyon for the 2021-22 season.Tottenham enquired about a swap deal for the midfielder invloving Tanguy Ndombele earlier this summer, but the French gaint made it clear they would only consider a permanent €25 million (£21m/$30m) sale.
Arsenal also registered their interest in Aouar, but Lyon have decided not to sell their star player in the current transfer window.
