UCL Round of 16: Teams that Chelsea could face revealed

The UEFA Champions league group stage games has been concluded and all focus will now shift to the day when the draw will be made. One of the favourite who failed to win their Group is Chelsea FC.

Chelsea football club failed to win their UEFA Champions league group after they were held 3-3 by Zenit St Petersburg in Russia. Accident to guidelines of the UEFA Champions league round of 16 draw, a team which came 2nd in w group will only be drawn against a team which came first in other groups. Also two teams in who play in the same league cannot be drawn together in the UEFA Champions league round of 16.

With this rule, Chelsea can only be paired with only group winners in all the other groups aside theirs(Juventus) and they can’t face an English Premier league club. There are only four of such teams that Chelsea could meet, and they are:

1. Ajax: the Dutch side has been very brilliant so far in this season’s competition. The won their group after securing the maximum 18 points in this season’s UEFA Champions league. A pairing against Chelsea football club will not be palatable for the London club.

2. Real Madrid: Real Madrid won Group D at the expense of Inter Milan, Sheriff FC and Shakhtar Donetsk. Both teams met last season and Chelsea came out victorious over two legs. Real Madrid are in top form and will seek for revenge peradventure they are meet again in the round of 16.
3. Bayern Munich: the German Bundesliga champions are one of the teams have been tipped to clinch this season’s UEFA Champions league. They won Group E comfortably and could love to take on the reigning Champions of the competition.
4. Lille: the French league champions won group H on the last day of the group stage. Chelsea football club will fancy facing the French club as they seems to be the least rated team in the list of their possible opponent.
