UEFA Super Cup 2021: How to watch Chelsea vs Villarreal Live Streaming, TV, Phone, online

Thomas Tuchel of Chelsea and Unai Emery of Villarreal will be looking to lift another trophy after success in Champions League and EUROPA League.

Chelsea take on Europa League holders Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup in Belfast and here’s how to watch the match

Chelsea are in Belfast tonight looking to add more silverware to their collection in the Thomas Tuchel era.

They face a Villarreal side who overcame the odds to defeat Manchester United in last season’s Europa League final.

Chelsea’s history in the Super Cup isn’t particularly favourable. They’ve lost three of their four previous appearances in the content, last winning in 1998 with a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid.

City and United went into the UEFA Champions League and Europa League finals as favourites. As we know all too well by now, however, football doesn’t always have a tendency to follow a script.

Chelsea, then, should heed the warning. The Blues go into tonight’s match as the favourites against the Spanish side nicknamed ‘The Yellow Submarines’.

Their victory over Manchester United in Gdansk was the first European success in the club’s history. The same certainly can’t be said for head coach Unai Emery who lifted the Europa League for the fourth time in his managerial career.

Emery’s Europa League success hasn’t exactly carried itself over into the Europa League, however. When Sevilla won three successive Europa Leagues under Emery, they lost all subsequent Super Cup matches.

In the interest of fairness, however, Emery was only present in the dugout on two of those occasions, having taken the Paris St Germain job in the summer of 2016.
