US to pay $7m (N2.5bn) to anyone who gives information on Boko Haram leader, Shekau

The US Department of State has offered to give a rewarding reward of up to $7m (N2.5bn) for information that will lead to the arrest of Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau.

Shekau is currently number eight on the list of the most wanted terrorists by the United State of America.

The US Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service, declared on twitter that it will give the said sum to anyone with vital information on Shekau.

The tweet reads, “The United States Department of State offers a reward up to $7m for information leading to the arrest of the terrorist, Abubakar Shekau, leader of Boko Haram.

The terrorist group has killed tens of thousands and displaced over 2.3 million from their homes and was at one time the world’s deadliest terror group according to the Global Terrorism Index.

The number of people living in IDPs camps are enormous and these people have not been living their normal lives.
